BWC RELEASES 2016 HANDBOOK OF WORKER’S STATUTORY MONETARY BENEFITS
A total of 30,000 handbooks will be distributed by the DOLE, through the Bureau of Working Conditions, the different Regional Offices and Field Offices, and other DOLE attached agencies, starting July of 2016.
The handbook is a bite-size updated version featuring recent developments in Philippine labor laws and regulations. Among the updates included in this version are the: 1) enumeration of the regional minimum wage rates; 2) entries on the exemption from minimum wage law of Barangay Micro Business Enterprises under the BMBE Act of 2002 as amended by the Go Negosyo Act of 2014; 3) entries on income tax exemption on minimum wage earners; 4) tax treatment on separation pay and retirement pay; and 5) tax implication on 13th month pay in view of the raised income tax exemption ceiling to Php82,000.00.
